About the Role
The Reflectory is looking for a thoughtful visual storyteller with a deep interest in art, culture, travel, and human stories.
As our Content Creator & Culture Ambassador, you will work closely with The Reflectory's growing archive of footage - transforming moments, journeys, and conversations into meaningful, well-crafted content. This role is rooted in editorial judgment and narrative sensitivity, not just technical execution. A significant part of the work involves shaping existing footage into cohesive stories drawn from art exhibitions, museums, creative studios, travel across different parts of the world, and recorded conversations.
Alongside content creation, you will represent The Reflectory in cultural spaces - attending exhibitions, design fairs, art events, and creative gatherings; engaging with artists, founders, and institutions; and helping articulate The Reflectory's vision, values, and work. At times, you may attend events independently, capturing insights, conversations, and context, and sharing The Reflectory's perspective and presence.
What You'll Do:
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Conceptualise, write, edit, and produce original video content across formats (long-form, vlog-style, reels) and platforms (Instagram, YouTube)
- Work extensively with existing Reflectory footage, shaping raw material into cohesive, engaging narratives
- Interpret moments rather than simply document them - finding rhythm, meaning, and story
- Edit immersive POV and action-camera footage into thoughtful, human-centred content
Art & Cultural Content
- Develop content from art exhibitions, museums, galleries, studios, and creative spaces
- Translate art history, contemporary art, and creative practices into accessible, engaging narratives
- Balance visual beauty with context, without becoming academic or promotional
Travel & Human Stories
- Create content from extensive travel footage captured across different cities, cultures, and environments
- Approach travel as lived experience and cultural observation rather than sightseeing
- Explore how environments, movement, and place shape creativity, perception, and inner worlds
Conversations & Long-Form Content
- Edit and help shape podcast-style conversations and interviews
- Work with topics including art, culture, creativity, memory, existential questions, lifestyle, and human experience
- Structure long conversations into engaging, reflective audio-visual formats
Capture Events and Moments
- Capture footage during select events, exhibitions, or moments when required
- Support on-ground content creation when needed
Role Details
- This is a full-time position
- The role is hybrid, with a mix of remote work and in-person collaboration in Mumbai
- Some weekend work may be required during events, exhibitions, or travel periods; time off will be provided on weekdays in lieu
You're a Great Fit If You
- Think editorially and narratively, not just visually
- Are curious about art, culture, travel, and human behaviour
- Enjoy shaping meaning from raw, unstructured material
- Are comfortable working across formats and timelines
- Value depth, nuance, and intention alongside visibility and reach
- Enjoy working at a fast pace, adapting as ideas evolve rather than waiting for everything to be fully defined
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Portfolio demonstrating strong video storytelling and editing
- Ability to work with unstructured or raw footage and build narrative clarity
- Comfort working with action-camera, handheld, and immersive footage
- Strong editorial judgment and storytelling instinct
Bonus Points
- Experience with documentary, vlog-style, or essay-driven content
- Podcast or long-form conversation editing experience
- Interest in philosophy, psychology, culture, or travel narratives
- Experience with YouTube or other long-form platforms
- Multilingual abilities
Why Join The Reflectory
