Job Description

Inviting applications for the role of Consultant - VDI Engg

Responsibilities

1. Architecture, Design, and Deployment

  • Design scalable, resilient, and secure VDI architectures aligned with business needs.

  • Implement VDI solutions in on-prem, cloud, or hybrid environments.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and security teams on VDI integrations.

  • Participate in capacity planning, load balancing, and high-availability design.

  • Develop and maintain golden images for consistent deployments.

2. Administration and Operations

  • Manage and monitor all components of the VDI environment (Connection Servers, UAGs, Brokers, License Servers, etc.).

  • Create and maintain desktop pools, provisioning groups, and application layers.

  • Optimize system performance by tuning resource allocation and OS configurations.

  • Implement profile management using FSLogix, Citrix Profile Management, or similar tools.

  • Manage user access through Active Directory, Group Policies, and Conditional Access.

  • Schedule and perform system updates, patching, and image refresh cycles.

3. Application and Image Management

  • Collaborate with the Application Packaging team to integrate apps into the VDI image or layer.

  • Maintain and update master images with latest OS and security patches.

  • Test new applications, Windows updates, and software versions before deployment.

  • Automate image management and software delivery using PowerShell or deployment tools.

4. Monitoring, Troubleshooting, and Optimization

  • Monitor VDI performance, session usage, and server health using tools like ControlUp, Nexthink, or Lakeside SysTrack.

  • Troubleshoot login issues, latency, and profile load times.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for performance or availability incidents.

  • Identify opportunities to improve user experience, stability, and speed.

  • Maintain uptime and SLA compliance for VDI environments.

  • Bachelor%27s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
