JOB TITLE: Sr Consultant / Consultant – Patent Managed Services

Location: Gurgaon/Bangalore

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patent Services Professional to create high quality patent applications and (preferably) support patent prosecution activities by collaborating with inventors, clients, and external counsel. The role involves conducting invention disclosure discussions, assessing patentability, drafting and reviewing applications, guiding drafting teams, and contributing to Office Action responses. The candidate is expected to maintain high standards of quality, communication, excellent delivery, while operating with a strong client ownership mindset.

• Proactive approach for continuous improvement, training, and process optimization.

REQUIREMENTS:

• B.E./B.Tech./M.Tech. – Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering

• Registered patent agent is a plus

• LL.B. (Hons.) from a reputed law school is a plus

• 7+ years of experience in IP services, legal operations, or IP outsourcing specifically related to drafting US patent applications and responding to office actions (preferable)

• Excellent understanding of US, EP & India patent laws

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and analytical skills

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and effectively manage competing priorities

• Ability to operate independently with minimal guidance and direction

• Ability to juggle multiple tasks - dynamic, and action-orientated, which meets deadlines and makes it happen

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Visio and related software programs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Patent Preparation

• Conduct end to end patent application drafting and review, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with jurisdictional requirements.

• Provide inventor guidance sessions and conduct invention disclosure reviews (IDF reviews) to extract technical disclosures and take decisions on inventiveness/filing.

• Have some experience in preparing and reviewing Office Action responses (US, IN), incorporating strategic claim amendments and arguments.

• Collaborate with patent counsel to ensure strategy on drafting, prosecution, and related activities.

2. Client & Stakeholder Communication

• Maintain seamless communication with clients and partner law firms, ensuring timely updates and clear articulation of technical and procedural matters.

• Coordinate with stakeholders to align expectations, clarify requirements, and provide accurate data reports.

3. Delivery Excellence & SLA Management

• Ensure adherence to deadlines, SLAs, KPIs, and quality metrics, maintaining service excellence across tasks.

• Conduct quality checks, enforce review standards, and drive continuous improvement across tasks.

4. Training, Knowledge Sharing & Process Improvement

• Generate high quality drafting and training materials to support capability building across teams.

• Lead or contribute to training initiatives, including drafting workshops and knowledge sharing sessions.

• Identify process gaps and propose operational improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices for scaling efficiency.
