Consultant- Paediatric Hematologist
Job Description
Key Responsibilities 1. Clinical Evaluation & Patient Care Diagnose and manage benign hematological disorders such as anemia, bleeding disorders, thrombosis, and hemoglobinopathies. Manage malignant hematological conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including clinical assessment, laboratory interpretation, and treatment planning. 2. Treatment & Procedures Administer and supervise chemotherapy, transfusion therapy, and supportive care for hematology patients. Manage bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures. Monitor patient response to treatment and modify therapy as needed. 3. Laboratory Coordination Collaborate with the laboratory and pathology departments for diagnostic investigations and interpretation of results. Ensure proper utilization of hematology tests and procedures. 4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration Work closely with oncologists, pathologists, transfusion medicine specialists, and other clinicians for comprehensive patient care. Participate in tumor boards and clinical case discussions. 5. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and complete medical records, treatment plans, and patient documentation. Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, NABH standards, and patient safety guidelines. 6. Academic & Quality Activities Participate in clinical research, CMEs, and departmental meetings. Support quality improvement initiatives and medical education programs. Qualifications & Experience MBBS + MD (General Medicine / Pediatrics) + DM / DNB in Hematology or equivalent qualification. Valid State Medical Council / NMC registration. Relevant clinical experience in hematology is preferred.
