Designation: Senior Consultant Obstetrics & Gynecology
Qualification (specify experience): MBBS – DGO (3-5 years experience as an Obstetrician / Gynecologist)
Knowledge&Skills
ü Ability to expertly manage common operations like Low forceps deliver, Vacuum Extraction, Caesarean Section, Episiotomy, Normal delivery, Premature labor, Cervical and vaginal tears, Repair of perineal, Ruptured ectopic pregnancy, Manual removal of placenta etc
ü Insertion & Removal of IUDs, Female sterilization, polypectomy, Pelvic abscess, endometrial biopsy, Cervical Erosion
ü Surgical skills with experience of independently handling of cases with exception of high-risk pregnancies.

Job Responsibilities
ü Diagnosis and management of the gynecological and obstetrical cases including surgical interventions as required.
ü Pre and Post preparation and follow-up of patient
ü Performing initial assessment and undertaking immediate management of all patients attending the emergency department in accordance with departmental protocols.
ü Counseling of patients relative regarding the diagnosis, prognosis and effective timely management of the patient in accordance with overall plan of care.
ü Empathizing and keeping the patient comfortable and satisfied
ü Explain to the patients and their families, the details of the illness and the interventions required and helping them give an informed consent.
ü Management of complications
ü Analyze records, reports, test results or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patient
ü Periodic Updation of medical records to reflect all aspects of care
ü Organize health-promotion and disease-prevention programs in hospitals
ü Coordinate with nurses, assistants, anesthesiologists and specialists during surgical procedure
ü Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objective; continuous quality improvement initiative; safety and infection prevention standards
ü Responsible for the total functioning of the department
ü Review of policies and protocols of the department
ü Managing the equipment and supplies. Ensuring that appropriate equipment is acquired.
ü Supervision of all the junior staff during patient assessment, management and emergency procedures.
ü Handling complaints from patients and other departments
ü Allocating task to junior team.
ü Participate in audits and quality indicator programs of the department
ü Actively participating in and organizing regular interdepartmental activities
ü Conducting training programmes for better patient care for the nurses, doctor, technician in the ward and OPD
ü Liaising with other appropriate departments depending on the needs of each patient.
ü Allotment of duties to consultants
ü Train newly joined members in gynecology and obstetrics and other relevant surgical / emergency procedures.
