Job Description

About the role

The Senior Associate Consultant, Governance, Risk and Compliance will be responsible for translating strategic priorities into actionable processes, maintaining compliance and governance records, managing contract and regulatory lifecycles, and facilitating cross-functional coordination across teams and jurisdictions. The role will also contribute to GBL's internal capacity-building through training and communication initiatives, ensuring the GRC function operates with scalability, consistency, and responsiveness.

CTC: 10 LPA+ based on experience

Start Date: Immediate

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Governance

  • Maintaining statutory registers and governance trackers (Manager will review whenever escalations or anomalies arise).
  • Preparing first drafts of board resolutions for my refinement and finalisation -
  • Monitoring legislative updates and preparing concise summaries for Manager review.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and Shahi on routine follow-ups so the Manager can focus on escalations and decision-making.
  • Tracking policy updates and maintaining the repository;
  • Maintaining Asana and ensuring GRC tasks are tracked accurately.
  • Holding the fort during Manager's leave for routine matters;

2. Risk & Compliance

  • Preparing first drafts of contracts based on inputs from verticals
  • Preparing first-level contract and email summaries.
  • Conducting research on global GRC practices and preparing actionable notes
  • Jurisdiction-specific legal research with conclusive findings
  • Maintaining the contract database and following up on execution/archiving.
  • Coordinating with finance, HR, operations for documentation requests.
  • Support with tracking status of filings and ensuring timely reminders.
  • Maintaining the compliance calendar and tracking licenses/insurances.
  • Maintaining clause banks with approved deviations for each template

3. Internal training programs

  • Preparing first drafts of decks and training materials
  • Handling administrative aspects — reminders, attendance, and completion tracking.
  • Drafting compliance newsletters for review before circulation.
  • Developing FAQs for verticals

Who are you

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognised university (mandatory)
  • Company Secretary (CS) qualification (completed or in progress) is strongly preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in legal, compliance, or GRC roles
  • Corporate governance and board processes
  • Contract drafting, review, and management
  • Regulatory compliance and filings
  • Prior experience in a Section 8 company, nonprofit, startup, or consulting environment is desirable

SKILLSETS

  • Strong understanding of:
  • - Indian corporate and regulatory frameworks
  • - Basic cross-border compliance considerations

ABILITY TO:

  • Draft and review contracts with minimal supervision
  • Maintain compliance trackers, legal databases, and documentation systems
  • Interpret regulations and translate them into actionable internal processes
