We are a dedicated data and analytics team that provides support to one of our top Australian clients. Our primary focus is on collaborating with Operations and the Client to Design, Build, and Execute strategies that enhance customer experience (CX) and employee experience (EX). Additionally, we work closely with cross-functional teams, leveraging global best practices to equip Operations with valuable insights and tools. By partnering with various stakeholders, we aim to optimize operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and publish interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Build and optimize data models (Star/Snowflake schema, calculated tables, DAX measures).
  • Work with multiple data sources including SQL Server, Azure, AWS (Redshift, Athena, S3),Excel, APIs, and cloud services.
  • Implement row-level security (RLS), scheduled refreshes, and workspace management in Power BI Service.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and performance optimization of reports and queries.
  • Support integration with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or other ETL/data platforms (if required).
  • Stay up to date with latest Power BI and Microsoft Fabric features to improve reporting capabilities.

Mandatory Skills Required:

  • Strong expertise in SQL (queries, joins, stored procedures, performance tuning).
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service (reports, dashboards, apps).
  • Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for building complex measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
  • Proficiency in Data Modeling (Star/Snowflake schema, relationships, optimized semantic models).
  • Strong communication skills to interface with technical and business stakeholders.

Secondary Skills Required:

  • Experience with Azure Data Services such as Data Factory (ADF), Data Lake, and Databricks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and emerging BI/analytics tools.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and orchestration tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS (S3, Redshift, BigQuery) is a plus.
  • Exposure to machine learning models integration with Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies for project delivery.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • 6-9 years of proven hands-on experience in Power BI development and data visualization.
  • Strong background in SQL, data modeling, and business intelligence concepts.
  • Experience working with large datasets, data integration, and performance tuning.
  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI) or equivalent certification (good to have)
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
