Summary role description:

Hiring a consultant – Family Business Advisory for diversified global conglomerate expanding into financial services including investment banking, wealth management, and alternative investments.

With a legacy spanning over six decades, the Group is now building a next-generation financial services arm focused on investment banking, wealth management, AIF/NBFC businesses, catering to HNIs, family offices, real estate investors, and mid-market enterprises.

Role details:

  • Title / Designation: Consultant – Family Business Advisory
  • Location: Chennai
  • Reporting Manager: Founder

Role & responsibilities:

  • Lead and support end-to-end delivery of Family Business Strategy engagements from scoping and diagnostics through to implementation.
  • Design and implement professionalised governance frameworks for family-owned businesses, including family constitutions, board structures, succession plans, and decision-making protocols, all within the framework of family ownership.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, data gathering, and analysis to assess current governance maturity and identify gaps; translate findings into actionable, client-ready recommendations.
  • Support business development and solutioning contribute to proposals, pitch decks, and thought-leadership content as the practice scales its Family Business Strategy offering.

Candidate requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in family office restructuring and / or governance advisory including designing or implementing governance frameworks, family charters, or ownership structures.
  • 3–5 years of consulting experience, preferably within the advisory or consulting arm of a Big-4 or equivalent professional services firm.
  • Strong command of structured problem-solving, stakeholder management, and executive-level communication comfortable working with business families and C-suite decision makers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams independently, contribute to day-to-day project tasks, and take ownership of deliverable quality with minimal supervision.
