About The Team

Foundation team's core objective is to be strategic advisors to domestic and global foundations to achieve orbit shifting impact. Our focus is on enabling holistic organisation and ecosystem transformation - by rigorously solving problems, formulating strategic solutions which are logically sound and effective on the ground and ensuring all stakeholders are effectively engaged and their interests are covered.

The Opportunity

As a Consultant in the Foundations team, you will be an integral part of a team that designs and builds solutions that best address our clients needs and create measurable impact. In this role, you will work alongside diverse teams on program strategy, business development, problem solving, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery and Management

  • Take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of complex engagements in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Develop and implement structured project plans, define milestones, and establish governance mechanisms to track progress and ensure accountability.
  • Anticipate and manage operational and strategic risks, proactively identifying mitigation strategies in collaboration with engagement managers and senior leadership.
  • Manage resource allocation and project workflows to ensure efficient and effective delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement


  • Build and nurture relationships with philanthropic, government, and education ecosystem stakeholders through proactive engagement and demonstrated expertise.
  • Manage a small portfolio of partners by providing strategic guidance, monitoring program progress, and ensuring alignment with portfolio goals.
  • Capture and synthesize portfolio insights and learnings to inform internal knowledge building and future strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and present new partnership opportunities aligned with the program's and organization's mission and strategic priorities.

Team Collaboration


  • Work with junior team members, guide Associate or Analysts on the team to achieve high-quality project deliverables on time; Able to give and receive constructive feedback to the team members in a respectable manner.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders of the organisation, actively contributing innovative ideas and frameworks as needed to support business growth initiatives.
  • Manage conflict within the team in an open and transparent manner.

Strategic Thinking & Problem solving


  • Stay updated on trends in the education ecosystem and actively build perspectives, frameworks, and mental models that strengthen strategic thinking.
  • Structure problem statements and support the development of evidence-backed, contextually grounded strategic recommendations.
  • Understand the broader vision of the organisation/project and align workstreams accordingly.
  • Take a step back periodically to identify emerging insights or patterns that may influence project work.

Research & Data Analysis


  • Lead primary and secondary research (including literature reviews, market research, solution landscape mapping, and policy research).
  • Prepare interview guides for primary research, manage focus groups, conduct interviews, and administer surveys.
  • Conduct relevant quantitative and qualitative analyses to extract meaningful insights related to client problems.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations effectively through structured analysis, compelling narratives, and evidence-based perspectives.

Key qualifications and experiences:


  • 56 years of experience in consulting, project management, operations, or research in the corporate sector, social sector, or global foundations.
  • MBA or an equivalent postgraduate degree in business management, development studies, public policy, education, or social sciences.
  • Prior experience in the public education sector, including work on education programs, research, evaluations, or policy analysis. Demonstrated experience in managing the delivery of education projects, including monitoring progress and reporting outcomes to funders.
  • Experience working with government school systems, state education departments, or education-focused foundations/NGOs is required.
  • Experience in managing grants and engaging with funders, including coordinating reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in leading small teams and contributing to program strategy is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to work closely with field teams and travel to project sites as required.
  • Proficiency in regional languages (Odia/Hindi/Kannada) is an added advantage.
