About your role:
SuThe Consultant will lead the design, development, and adoption of open, interoperable digital public infrastructure for mobility under the guidance of the Executive Director - Mobility at WRI India. This strategic role combines technical expertise with ecosystem leadership, responsible for operationalizing DPI architecture, enabling pilot execution, fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration, and driving advocacy and capacity-building efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Refine and operationalize the technical architecture of the mobility DPI, incorporating use case narratives and real-world scenarios.
- Identify, assess, and support the development, configuration, and extension of key digital building blocks, leveraging existing DPG/DPI solutions (e.g., Beckn, DIGIT) or developing new components.
- Lead phased ecosystem consultations (internal, targeted, public) to validate the architecture, build stakeholder buy-in, and align on priorities.
- Initiate and support pilot planning, partner onboarding, operational frameworks, and troubleshooting.
- Champion DPI principles to relevant stakeholders through workshops, webinars, consultations, and public engagements.
- Collaborate with financial institutions to explore innovative funding models and incentive structures for pilots.
- Contribute to governance frameworks, scaling strategies, and comprehensive DPI playbooks based on pilot learnings.
- Deliver continuous progress reports, updated architecture drafts, pilot updates, and building block progress reports.
Skills and Qualifications we seek:
- Strong technical expertise in system architecture, digital protocols, APIs, and data exchange frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to engage multi-stakeholder ecosystems - government, private sector and civil society.
- Experience in leading pilot projects, technical workshops, and scaling digital solutions.
- Proven experience in DPI, digital infrastructure, or large-scale technology ecosystems.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with existing DPG/DPIs and open-source architectures.
- Experience with capacity building and advocacy initiatives in digital ecosystems.
- Understanding of financial models (blended finance, carbon credits) and governance in digital transformation contexts.
