Position Summary
MedSciX is seeking an experienced Consultant Dermatologist for an opportunity with a healthcare organization in the Caribbean. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive dermatological care, including the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of a broad range of skin, hair, and nail conditions.
The position requires strong clinical expertise, procedural competency, excellent patient communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist consultations for a broad range of dermatological conditions.
- Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and complex skin, hair, and nail disorders.
- Manage conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, skin infections, pigmentation disorders, and other dermatological diseases.
- Evaluate suspicious skin lesions and support the diagnosis and management of skin cancers.
- Perform dermatological procedures including skin biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, electrocautery, and other minor procedures within the physician's scope of practice.
- Develop individualized treatment and long-term follow-up plans.
- Provide expert clinical guidance for complex dermatology cases.
- Educate patients regarding treatment options, preventive skin care, and long-term disease management.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to applicable clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in clinical quality improvement, continuing medical education, and professional development activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
- Postgraduate specialization in Dermatology – MD/DNB or equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant clinical experience in Dermatology.
- Board certification or specialist registration in Dermatology, where applicable.
- Current medical registration and good professional standing.
- Eligible and willing to obtain medical registration/licensure in the applicable Caribbean jurisdiction.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Willingness to relocate to the Caribbean.
