MTX Group Inc. (MTX) is currently hiring for the position of Consultant - Consulting Operations. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in consulting operations, resource management, and project operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of staffing, capacity planning, and data management, and will work closely with Delivery, Revenue Operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure optimal resource utilization and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

The Consultant is expected to execute the following responsibilities:

  • Resource Staffing & Capacity Planning:
  • Collaborate with Delivery Leaders across geographies to identify and fulfill project staffing requirements.
  • Ensure optimal allocation of consultants by aligning skills, experience, and project needs.
  • Monitor consultant availability and proactively address gaps through effective staffing strategies.
  • Support capacity planning, hiring analysis, and forecasting to meet business demands.
  • Understand and manage key staffing inputs such as Resource Requests, SOW, LOE, opportunity probability, change orders, and budgets.
  • Communicate staffing assignments clearly to consultants in coordination with Delivery Managers.
  • Identify risks related to attrition, burnout, or bandwidth constraints and escalate proactively.
  • Provide creative staffing solutions with clear pros and cons to stakeholders.
  • Support multi-region and multi-practice staffing requirements efficiently.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Coordination:
  • Maintain regular communication with Delivery Leaders regarding consultant performance, career goals, and project alignment.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Ops Managers, and Onshore teams to ensure timely staffing updates.
  • Act as a bridge between recruitment, delivery, and operations teams for seamless resource planning.
  • Ensure no escalations by proactively managing expectations and timelines.
  • Project & Operational Data Management:
  • Set up projects and consultant assignments accurately in the system.
  • Ensure data accuracy for financial reporting, billing, and project tracking.
  • Monitor and resolve discrepancies in project data, timecards, and approvals.
  • Track missing timecards and follow up for timely submission and approvals.
  • Maintain high standards of data cleanliness and integrity across systems.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Salesforce and Excel.
  • Analyze business performance metrics, including utilization, revenue, and project health.
  • Generate actionable insights to support decision-making for Delivery and Leadership teams.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and inefficiencies through data analysis.
  • Financial & Utilization Management:
  • Monitor consultant utilization (actual vs forecasted) and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Support project financial tracking including billing types, budgets, and goodwill considerations.
  • Work closely with Finance for invoicing, reconciliations, and financial accuracy.
  • Ensure alignment between project financials and operational data.
  • Process Improvement & Governance:
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational processes and efficiencies.
  • Document delivery and operational processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to defined processes and standards across teams.
  • Contribute to building scalable and efficient operational frameworks.
  • Systems & Tools Management:
  • Work with internal development teams for system enhancements and issue resolution.
  • Ensure effective utilization of PSA (Beans) and other operational tools.
  • Support system adoption and process standardization across teams.
  • Problem Solving & Operational Excellence:
  • Proactively identify and resolve data discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Handle high-pressure situations involving tight timelines and dependencies.
  • Ensure smooth execution of operations with minimal disruptions.
  • Drive accountability and ownership across stakeholders.

What you will bring:

  • 2–4 years of experience in Consulting Operations, Resource Management, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of staffing, capacity planning, and project operations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools, with good-to-have experience in Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with PSA tools (e.g., Beans) is preferred.
  • Strong data management and analytical capabilities, with attention to detail.
  • Experience working closely with Revenue Operations and Delivery Operations teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
