Summary Of The Position
The
Senior Analyst - Finance Systems is a pivotal role responsible for the strategic, technical, and operational support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) within the organization. This individual brings deep functional knowledge and a strong analytical mindset to identify business needs, recommend improvements, and deliver scalable solutions through Business Central. Working closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, IT, and external vendors, the analyst ensures that the ERP platform aligns with business goals, enhances operational efficiency, and supports data-driven decision-making.
This role combines advanced understanding of Business Central's capabilities with business acumen to guide the optimization, customization, and continuous improvement of enterprise processes.
Key Accountabilities
ERP Strategy & Solution Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of Business Central implementations, from requirements gathering and solution design to deployment and post-go-live support.
- Align ERP strategies with business goals, providing insights and roadmaps for future upgrades, modules, or third-party extensions.
- Translate complex business requirements into system configurations and functional design specifications.
- Champion best practices in ERP usage and business process improvement across departments.
System Optimization & Customization
- Evaluate existing configurations, workflows, and user roles in Business Central to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with developers to build or modify custom extensions using Power Platform tools.
- Test new functionalities, system upgrades, and customizations to ensure stability, scalability, and alignment with user needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams to facilitate clear communication and effective solution delivery.
- Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Sales, Inventory, and Operations teams to streamline and automate workflows.
- Guide stakeholders through business process reengineering and change management related to system adoption or enhancement.
Training & Support
- Develop comprehensive training programs, user manuals, and support documentation.
- Provide hands-on training and one-on-one mentoring to ensure users are comfortable with the platform and using it to its full potential.
- Monitor system performance and user feedback to proactively resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
Data Integrity & Reporting
- Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance within Business Central.
Skills and Experience | Essential
- ERP Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related modules (Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Inventory, Manufacturing).
- Business Process Analysis: Skilled in mapping, optimizing, and reengineering business processes to align with ERP capabilities.
- Solution Design & Delivery: Experienced in translating business needs into functional designs and leading full-cycle implementations.
- Problem Solving & Analytics: Strong troubleshooting skills with a data-driven mindset and experience in reporting and dashboard creation.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effective at engaging cross-functional teams, gathering requirements, and managing user expectations.
- Training & Documentation: Capable of creating clear user documentation and delivering impactful user training sessions.
- Detail-Oriented: Focused on data integrity, accuracy, and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Committed to staying current with ERP trends and driving system enhancements.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification.
Experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Proven track record in ERP implementation, configuration, and support.
- Experience working across multiple Business Central modules (e.g., Finance, Inventory, Purchasing, Sales, Manufacturing).
- Involvement in full project life cycles - from requirements gathering to post-go-live support.
- Exposure to business process analysis, optimization, and documentation.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data migration.
- Experience with reporting tools and data visualization.
