Inviting applications for the role of Consultant - Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) SME & Automation Specialist

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) with strong automation and infrastructure skills. The ideal candidate will design, deploy, and manage AVD environments, leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, and Bicep for image deployment and updates. This role requires deep expertise in Azure infrastructure operations and automation to ensure scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

.Act as AVD SME, providing technical leadership and best practices for virtual desktop deployments.

.Design, implement, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including host pools, session hosts, and FSLogix profiles.

.Automate image creation, updates, and deployments using IaC tools (Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep).

.Develop and maintain golden images for Windows 10/11 multi-session and optimize for performance and security.

.Implement scaling plans, load balancing, and monitoring for AVD environments.

.Integrate AVD with Azure AD, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager for secure access.

.Automate operational tasks such as patching, compliance enforcement, and remediation scripts using PowerShell and Azure automation services.

.Manage Azure infrastructure operations, including networking, storage, identity, and security configurations.

.Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies for AVD and related Azure services.

.Monitor performance and generate actionable insights using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Power BI.

.Collaborate with security teams to implement Zero Trust principles and endpoint protection.

.Work closely with OEM vendors and internal teams for image lifecycle management and zero-touch deployments.

• Experience in implementation, migration & troubleshooting FsLogix with Azure File storage or NetApp
• Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and concepts supporting IaaS
• Knowledge & Experience in AD, Azure AD Windows,
• Manage GPO's specific to AVD OUs for security hardening and automation
• Knowledge in Azure Monitor, KQL Queries, dashboards, Scripting

.Possess working knowledge of Windows Server and client OS troubleshooting.

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications

.Expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) architecture, deployment, and optimization.

.Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools: Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep.

.Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation frameworks.

.Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure services (Networking, Storage, Compute, Identity).

.Knowledge of image management, patching strategies, and session host scaling.

.Familiarity with Azure AD, Conditional Access, and Endpoint Manager integration.

.Experience with monitoring and reporting tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Power BI).

.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud and virtual desktop environments.

.Bachelor%27s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

.Relevant experience in Windows Sysadminin on prem and cloud environment.

.Solid years of experience in domain of Identity and Access Management (IAM), PAM
