Job Overview

Function Overview

The GIC Supply Chain team manages end-to-end operations, encompassing planning, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and analytics. They strategically plan to meet market demands, optimize sourcing, ensure efficient production, and oversee the seamless movement of goods from production to delivery. The team employs advanced analytics throughout these processes, fostering adaptability and operational excellence. This collaborative approach ensures a well-coordinated supply chain that aligns with both organizational goals and dynamic market conditions.

Purpose of the role

Supply chain analytics group is responsible for delivering the solutions and developing the capabilities which enables better decision-making in supply chain. This team works closely with all supply chain functions (i.e., plan, source, make, deliver and customer service teams), business units and other cross functional partners for developing solutions to drive business value.

This team also drives step-change innovation and improvements in business practices by delivering actionable insights through advanced analytics and supply chain expertise.

The Consultant role involves solving end-to-end supply chain problems (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Customer, and ESC) leveraging optimization/simulation/predictive/descriptive models, which will help to identify, analyze, and implement opportunities. The Consultant leads and executes these projects by highlighting elevated levels of collaboration with Global business teams and Analytics consultants.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Responsibilities - Providing thought leadership, critical thinking, problem solving and delivering solutions (50% of Time)

  • Solve complex problems in the areas of Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Customer, and ESC
  • Continuously think of innovative ways to solve business problems.
  • Evaluate different analytical solutions options and recommend the best approach for the problem at hand.
  • Synthesize large data sets/model results into usable insights and business recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other Supply chain functions across geographies to identify opportunities in business processes and formulate problem statements.
  • Develop a detailed solution design/architecture or re-engineer an existing solution design.
  • Enhance the technical and capability landscape for the supply chain analytics group.
  • Evaluate different emerging tools and technologies available in the industry and prepare a business case for their adoption.
  • Explore & Develop partnership with the external analytics and technology partners to drive innovation.

Operational Responsibilities - Learn, Train, and Improve (20% of Time)

  • Training & On-boarding
    • Impart training to the trainers on analytical tools, techniques, processes, domain knowledge, and GMI Business Acumen
    • Create a process for defining the US and India skill targets, training curriculum, and execution.
    • Enrich the onboarding program across supply chain analytics.
    • Establish the processes and framework from Hire to Ready for Contribution
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Develop & maintain capability maturity frameworks to map out current state and roadmap for the future state.
    • Identify the opportunities of eliminating waste in the analytics processes through innovation & automation.
    • Introduce best practices and standardize ways of executing and delivering analytics projects (design documents, assumption documents, presentation, visualization, storytelling)

Stakeholder & Project Management Responsibilities (30% of Time)

  • Lead business meetings to understand the business requirements and charter the project.
  • Prepare the project proposals by identifying the opportunities, providing solution options, outlining trade-offs, risks and defining success criteria.
  • Prepare the project plan, estimate effort, gain alignment on the resources, and execute.
  • Deliver the project within the timelines, maintaining the highest quality and using budgeted resources.
  • Manage proactive communication throughout the project to the project teams, stakeholders/sponsors/leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Full Time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory)
  • 3-4 years of related experience
  • Experience in optimization and simulation tools such as Supply chain Guru, Advance Excel, R/Python or similar.
  • Domain Experience
    • Intermediate understanding of end-to-end supply chain
    • Deep understanding in one or more areas.
      • Supply & Distribution planning and Network Design
      • Transportation operation & Planning
      • Sourcing and Inventory management
    • Strong experience in either of operations, planning and analytics.
  • Can work independently and make decisions without seeking help from Supervisor.
  • Strong analytic ability to translate data into actionable information.
  • Ability to think out of the box & strong analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (M. Tech/MBA/MSC)
  • 4+ years of experience in Core Supply Chain
  • Major Area of Study: Supply Chain / Operations Research / Industrial Engineering / Statistics / Mathematics / Mechanical Engineering / Computer Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Instrumentation Engineering/ Production Engineering
  • Professional Certifications: APICS, CSCP, CPIM Analytics, Six Sigma, SC Macro Masters, or similar Analytics accreditation
  • Preferred Institutes: IITs/NITs/ Tier 1 or 2 MBA Colleges/reputed University
  • Experience in front end application development - Rest APIs, Dash, R shiny.
