Construction Takeoff Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE

F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced Construction Takeoff Specialist to review architectural and construction drawings and produce accurate quantity takeoffs for a U.S. construction-support team.

You'll measure drawings yourself, calculate linear footage, square footage, counts, and other quantities, and organize everything into clear takeoff sheets that an estimator can review.

This is a takeoff role, not a drafting role. We need someone who has personally measured construction drawings and calculated quantities — not someone whose experience is limited to AutoCAD drafting, Revit modeling, or drawing production.

Scaffolding experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided on scaffolding-specific takeoff methods.

This is a full-time, remote role open to candidates in India and the Philippines.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Review architectural plans, elevations, sections, and construction details

• Extract dimensions and quantities from drawing sets

• Calculate linear footage, square footage, counts, and other measurements

• Prepare organized takeoff sheets and quantity schedules

• Use drawing scales, PDF measurement tools, and takeoff software

• Cross-check calculations and identify discrepancies before submission

• Keep every measurement traceable to its source drawing

• Complete takeoff assignments independently and explain your methodology

• Work with estimators, architects, project managers, and other team members

• Learn and apply scaffolding-specific takeoff methods after onboarding

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Hands-on construction or architectural takeoff experience

• Strong ability to read plans, elevations, sections, and construction details

• Experience calculating quantities directly from drawings

• Strong understanding of linear feet, square feet, counts, and drawing scales

• Experience preparing organized takeoff sheets or measurement summaries

• Excel or spreadsheet proficiency

• Familiarity with digital PDF measurement or takeoff tools

• Strong accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to independently complete and verify takeoffs

• Clear written and spoken English

IMPORTANT

Drafting experience alone is not enough.

If your background is primarily AutoCAD drafting, Revit modeling, or drawing preparation without personally performing quantity takeoffs and measurement calculations, this role is not the right fit.

Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical takeoff test using a sample architectural drawing.

NICE TO HAVE

• Construction estimating or quantity-surveying experience

• Scaffolding takeoff or estimating experience

• Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar takeoff software

• Experience with building-envelope or facade measurements

• Experience with U.S. construction drawings

• CAD experience as a supporting skill
