Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or related field
- Minimum 4-5 years of relevant construction/project management experience
- Proven experience managing construction projects from planning through completion and handover
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Good understanding of project scheduling, cost control, procurement, and contract administration
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers
- Good knowledge of construction safety, quality standards, and statutory requirements
- Strong ability to manage project budgets, timelines, resources, and risks
- Relevant professional, construction, or safety certifications will be an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadline.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and oversee construction projects from commencement to completion to deliver on time and within budget
- Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, and construction programmes to ensure efficient progress
- Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities to align project goals
- Supervise daily construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Monitor project progress and implement recovery plans to address delays and maintain timelines
- Manage project costs, variations, claims, procurement, and subcontractor payments to control budget and cash flow
- Conduct regular site inspections, progress meetings, and coordination meetings to maintain project alignment and quality
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements to uphold regulatory standards
- Review drawings, method statements, shop drawings, and technical submissions to validate construction plans
- Identify and resolve technical, construction, and site - related issues promptly to minimize disruptions
- Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance to optimize resource utilization
- Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports to communicate status and risks to stakeholders
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation measures to safeguard project objectives
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, defect rectification, and final handover to ensure project completion
- Lead and motivate project teams to achieve time, cost, quality, and safety objectives through effective leadership
