Job Description

Business: Piramal Pharma Solutions Department: EHS Location: Kurla Travel: Moderate Job Overview The primary objective of the role is to co-create, develop and drive the overall strategy for EHS globally and ensure that all the manufacturing sites follow and comply with the required EHS Policy, Standards, Guidelines, legal requirements and positive initiatives/programs thus establishing a culture of continuous improvement and team accountability. Key Stakeholders: Internal Site Leadership Teams Corporate Functions Key Stakeholders: External EHS EHS regulatory bodies Vendors Project Consultants Reporting Structure Role directly reports to VP and Global EHS Head ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:

  • B Tech in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering. MBA in Environment and Sustainability (preferred)
  • Alternately, a PhD in Chemistry/Environmental engineer with RLI/CLI Diploma in industrial safety and over 20 year experience in EHS Management. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 18-20 years of relevant experience in an EHS role within Chemical process, API industry or FMCG (not food) experience is helpful.
  • KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure implementation of EHS policy across India PPL sites and work within the framework of Piramal EHS Standards, Guidelines and Requirements.
  • Ensure full EHS legal compliance across sites
  • ESG - Contribute, develop and execute actions arising out of ESG strategy, including ESG data collation & verification and development of Sustainability & BRSR reports for PPL.
  • Ensure that risk assessment and Hazard Studies are conducted for all new and modified products and processes, and other site operations; help sites develop and implement risk mitigation plans across India Mfg & R&D sites, including large offices.
  • Develop and drive Site EHS targets & associated Improvement Plans including related to Critical and High Risks events in line with EHSMS requirements; and tracking progress till completion towards achieving set objectives and targets.
  • Conduct detailed review of capexes to address all encompasse EHS aspects and provide recommendations for improved design, installation, operation and maintenance, as required.
  • Identify & implement the key performance indicators for tracking EHS performance and Report the performance of EHSMS to the management.
  • Drive Project LIGHTHOUSE on Safety Cultural Transformation.
  • Setup a system for EHS governance and conduct periodic reviews with all sites.
  • Develop, implement and run comprehensive EHS audit programs in partnership with Sites, Conduct EHS audits, inspections, meetings and ensure compliance to agreed actions.
  • Participate for successful completion of customer and statutory audits.
  • Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis and implement controls to prevent recurrence
  • Work with IH/OH and Environmental SMEs to define and run programs around related to Occ. Health and environmental risk mitigation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to sites for the Environmental Affairs, Design for Safety & Environment including people, data, budgetary responsibilities, and future requirements for expansions.
  • Create and maintain program management systems to ensure that various Safety and Environmental Health certifications, accreditations, and compliance efforts are developed and continuously improved.
  • Develop programs to sensitize employees towards EHS aspects, improve their EHS risk perception and mitigation for establishing a true EHS culture.
  • Develop EHS Competency & TNI Matrix, standardize EHS e-learning and training modules, impart training as needed.
