Conference, Exhibit & Sponsorship Sales Manager – The Tech Festival Canada

Location: Ontario (GTA preferred) / Hybrid or Remote (Ontario)

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation:Basic Pay + Unlimited, Uncapped Commissions

Role Overview

We're hiring a high-ownership Conference, Exhibit & Sponsorship Sales Manager to drive revenue across delegate ticket sales, exhibition booth sales, and sponsorship/partnership sales for The Tech Festival Canada. This role is for a proven closer who can open doors, crack Tier 1 and Tier 2 accounts, and consistently convert pipeline into signed deals.

Similar Experience is Mandatory (Non-Negotiable)

You must have prior, direct experience selling:

  • Conference delegate tickets (B2B) and/or
  • Exhibition booths / expo packages and/or
  • Event sponsorships / conference sponsorships

If you have not sold these before, this role is not a fit.

What You'll Sell

Sales will align to our 5 Tech Pillars (AI, Quantum Computing, Sustainability & Climate Tech, Cybersecurity & Digital Trust, Robotics & Intelligent Infrastructure) across applied sectors such as Energy & Utilities, Healthcare & Lifesciences, Defence & National Security, Financial Services & Insurance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing & Critical Infrastructure.

Typical buyer and attendee targets include CEO/COO/CTO/CIO/CISO, VPs/Heads of AI, Cybersecurity, Innovation, Product, Engineering, Digital Transformation, Partnerships, Procurement, Strategy, and Growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end revenue sales across delegates, exhibitors, and sponsors: prospect → pitch → proposal → negotiation → close → handover
  • Build and manage a disciplined pipeline; run outreach sequences with strong follow-up cadence
  • Sell delegate passes (including corporate/group bundles), booth packages, and sponsorship assets (stage/track, speaking, branding, networking experiences, awards, VIP/VIP lounge, digital inclusions, etc.)
  • Identify and target high-fit exhibitor categories (AI/data/cloud, cybersecurity, quantum, robotics/automation, industrial IoT, climate tech/clean energy, HealthTech, FinTech, GovTech, defence tech, supply chain/manufacturing tech)
  • Create tailored proposals with clear ROI (lead gen, thought leadership, brand visibility, enterprise access, partnerships, hiring outcomes)
  • Negotiate and close Tier 1 and Tier 2 deals; manage multiple stakeholders and procurement cycles
  • Maintain accurate CRM hygiene, weekly forecasting, reporting, and revenue dashboards
  • Coordinate with marketing, programming, and operations teams to align messaging, deliverables, onboarding, and timelines

Must Have

  • Proven experience in conference ticket sales and/or booth sales and/or sponsorship sales (required)
  • Strong closing and negotiation skills with enterprise and mid-market clients (Tier 1/Tier 2)
  • Confident C-level communication and consultative selling approach
  • Highly organized: pipeline discipline, follow-ups, and revenue predictability
  • Strong written communication (proposals, emails, sponsor decks)

Nice to Have

  • Technology industry sales background (SaaS, enterprise tech, cybersecurity, AI, etc.)
  • Existing network across Ontario/Canada tech ecosystem, associations, accelerators, industry groups
  • Experience selling multi-product event portfolios (tickets + booths + sponsorships)

Success Metrics

  • Total revenue closed (delegate + booth + sponsorship)
  • Pipeline coverage and forecast accuracy
  • Conversion rates (lead → qualified → proposal → close)
  • Tier 1/Tier 2 logo wins and average deal size
  • Weekly closes, sales cycle speed, and retention/upsell into higher packages
