Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operator–Turning role based in Coimbatore. The CNC Operator–Turning sets up and operates CNC turning machines according to production specifications, selecting and installing tools, loading programs, and adjusting machine parameters to achieve required tolerances. The role includes reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work orders, and process sheets, as well as performing basic programming edits at the machine control when needed. The operator monitors machining operations, inspects parts using appropriate measuring instruments, and makes necessary offsets or adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. Daily responsibilities also include routine machine maintenance, maintaining a clean and safe work area, completing production documentation, and collaborating with supervisors, quality personnel, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and meet production targets.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CNC machine operation, including setup, tool changes, and safe operation of turning machinery (Machine Operation, Machinery).
  • Hands-on experience with machining processes on CNC lathes, including turning, facing, boring, and related operations (Machining).
  • Basic understanding of milling or willingness to learn for cross-functional support in the shop (Milling).
  • Strong quality mindset with experience in in-process and final inspection, using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges (Quality Control).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, tolerances, and process sheets.
  • Familiarity with shop safety standards and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Relevant technical diploma/ITI certification in Mechanical, Tool & Die, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Attention to detail, reliability in meeting production schedules, and ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
