Job Summary
SandColour is seeking an experienced CAD Technician with proven expertise in creating detailed shop drawings for furniture articles. The role involves close coordination with production, merchandising, and quality teams to ensure accurate, production-ready technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed shop drawings for wooden furniture such as tables, chairs, cabinets, and custom-made articles
- Create precise technical drawings including dimensions, joinery details, sections, and material specifications
- Translate design concepts, sketches, and samples into manufacturing-ready drawings
- Coordinate with factory, QC, and merchandising teams to align drawings with production requirements
- Modify and update drawings based on internal or client feedback
- Maintain drawing documentation and version control
- Support sampling and new product development
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / Degree in CAD, Mechanical Drafting, Interior Design, or a related field
- 25 years of hands-on experience in furniture shop drawings (mandatory)
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D); knowledge of 3D tools is an added advantage
- Good understanding of wood furniture construction, joinery, hardware, and finishes
- Experience with export furniture standards (USA / UK preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight timelines
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with CNC-ready drawings
- Familiarity with furniture factory production workflows
- Knowledge of hardwood furniture (Acacia, Mango, etc.)
