Job Description

About Alteon

The Wright Brothers gave humanity flight, Alteon exists to give humanity perpetual flight. We are building the world's highest endurance planes that can fly over the oceans for 417 days at a time.

With these, we're creating a world where you can have perpetual real time visibility across 100% of the ocean. A world where a million perpetually flying airplanes create a new layer of aerial infra that makes it possible to track the movement of every ship. Putting an end to all crime offshore from drug and human trafficking to terror attacks like 26/11, among other things.

As a company, we're driven by pushing the boundaries of what's possible — we don't like to settle for good enough. We are here to build the best technology possible, the best airplane possible, to do the best engineering possible. Limited only by the laws of physics.

About the role

As a Composite Laminator at Alteon, you'll be building aircraft structures that have never existed before — parts that are lighter, stronger, and more precise than what conventional manufacturing can achieve.

This is a hands-on role. You'll own the quality of every part that comes off the layup table, and with every build, you'll be expected to make the next one faster, cleaner, and more repeatable. We're turning a craft process into one that scales — and you'll be central to that.

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Take pride in a clean layup — misaligned plies and dry spots bother you even when no one's watching.
  • Obsess over eliminating variation. If two parts come out different, you want to know why and fix it.
  • Are comfortable flagging design or process decisions that make your job unnecessarily harder.
  • Have hands-on experience in composite lamination.
  • Can read and execute ply schedules and layup instructions without shortcuts on ply count or orientation.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Composite Layup & Fabrication: Hands-on fabrication of composite parts, ensuring consistent quality across every build.
  • Process Improvement: Reduce cycle time and eliminate defects with every build.
  • Tooling & Mold Management: Maintain molds, mandrels, and layup tooling. Flag issues before they affect part quality.
  • In-Process Quality: Conduct self-inspections at each stage — fiber orientation, consolidation, void content.
