We are looking for a detail-oriented Composite Layup & Fabrication Technician/Composite Manufacturing Associate with hands-on experience in aerospace composite manufacturing and assembly. The role focuses on precision layup, molding, and fabrication of composite parts for UAV/drone structures, ensuring high-quality standards and process compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precision composite layup and fabrication using carbon fiber, glass fiber, epoxy resins, foam core, and aerospace-grade plywood
- Prepare moulds through cleaning, waxing, and release agent application to ensure high quality surface finish and defect-free layup
- Execute complete vacuum bagging processes, including sealing, leak testing, breather/bleeder setup, and curing preparation
- Cut, kit, and stage materials as per engineering drawings and layup schedules, ensuring correct fiber orientation and ply sequencing
- Carry out composite bonding and assembly (composite-to-composite, composite-to-metal, and core bonding) using structural adhesives
- Perform surface preparation for bonding (sanding, cleaning, activation) to achieve strong and reliable adhesion
- Assemble components ensuring proper alignment, fitment, and dimensional accuracy as per specifications
- Conduct curing operations (oven/autoclave if applicable) following defined process parameters
- Perform finishing operations such as trimming, drilling, and sanding, and inspect for defects like voids, delamination, and bonding failures
- Maintain process documentation and safety compliance, ensuring proper handling of materials, chemicals, and tools
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Aerospace, Plastic, Polymer or another related field
- 2–5 years of experience in composite layup and fabrication
