POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Component Analyst (CA) will be assigned to a pre-selected customer base within, under the management of a Team Leader. The ideal candidate must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment and possess excellent data manipulation skills, in particular, but not limited to Excel.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review a request for quote to determine the best way of processing the Bill of Material (BOM) and understand the instructions given.
- Examine the Raw Bill of Material to ensure that pertinent information and data is included.
- Identify potential problems that may occur in the upload/download of the data and suggest solutions.
- Follow the prescribed procedures for uploading a quote to ensure that all correct lines are uploaded.
- Cleansing and building the part number based on the part description.
- Manipulate the raw Bill of Material in order to prepare it for upload and return it in the customer's format.
- Ability to do v-lookups against previous quotes and incorporate any matching data.
- Classing of product.
REQUIREMENTS
- Sound knowledge of electronic component manufacturers and part numbering system.
- Basic knowledge of RoHS.
- BOM srcubbing.
- Strong knowledge of Excel:
- Data manipulation, creating formulas and knowledge of shortcuts, v-lookup, pivot table, sorting, sub-total, merge files, IF & AND conditions.
- Good communication skills
- Alternate sourcing/crossing/obsolescence management
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
