Job Description
- Supporting compliance with applicable Indian laws and regulations, including corporate, labour and employment, foreign exchange, data protection, and other operational regulations relevant to GCCs (such as SEZ/STPI).
- Monitoring regulatory developments and assessing their impact on local operations.
- Coordinating with external advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities as required.
- Supporting the implementation and local adoption of global group policies, ensuring alignment with Indian legal requirements.
- Assisting with corporate governance processes, internal controls, compliance documentation, and certifications.
- Supporting internal and external audits, including tracking and closure of audit observations.
- Working closely with HR on employment, workplace, and labour law compliance, policy implementation, employee awareness initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
- Supporting compliance with data protection and privacy laws, working with IT and Information Security teams on reviews and audits.
- Assisting with third‑party compliance, including due diligence, monitoring vendors and service providers, and promoting adherence to the global Supplier Code of Conduct.
- Supporting delivery of mandatory compliance and ethics training and maintaining training and certification records.
The Successful Applicant
An ideal candidate would have:
- Qualified Indian lawyer (LL.B or equivalent).
- Around 4-5 years of post‑qualification experience in legal and/or compliance roles.
- Experience in regulatory compliance, governance, and internal controls.
- Prior exposure to multinational organisations or supporting the setup/expansion of operations in India is highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across cross‑functional teams.
