Job Summary
The Compliance Engineer III is a fully proficient technical professional responsible for delivering compliance software solutions across client implementations. The role independently executes and drives complex implementation workstreams spanning configuration, reporting, and integrations, applying strong technical and financial domain expertise. The position contributes to successful client outcomes by translating moderately ambiguous requirements into effective system solutions, resolving complex issues, and guiding implementation decisions within project scope.
Responsibilities
Solution Delivery & Execution
- Execute and drive complex implementation workstreams across system configuration, data setup, reporting, and integrations.
- Translate business and compliance requirements into scalable system configurations and technical solutions.
- Deliver high-quality implementation outputs aligned to project timelines, requirements, and defined success criteria.
Problem Solving & Technical Design
- Diagnose and resolve complex system, data, and integration issues with minimal guidance.
- Design and develop advanced reporting solutions using SQL and related technologies.
- Implement and optimize integrations with third-party systems using XML, XSLT, and related tools.
- Evaluate configuration trade-offs and recommend effective approaches within established solution parameters.
Collaboration & Client Support
- Engage with clients to clarify requirements, address issues, and support solution alignment throughout implementation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product, QA, Business Analysts) to ensure coordinated delivery.
- Communicate technical concepts and implementation decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge Application & Team Contribution
- Apply strong domain knowledge in compliance (e.g., investment compliance, portfolio monitoring) to implementation work.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and continuous improvement of implementation practices.
- Provide guidance to less experienced team members on tools, processes, and problem-solving approaches.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to independently execute complex technical work within defined project scope
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to handle moderately ambiguous requirements
- Ability to translate business needs into effective technical configurations and solutions
- Solid understanding of financial services and compliance concepts
Technical & Systems Proficiency
- SQL / T-SQL (advanced proficiency)
- Microsoft Excel (advanced, including complex formulas and data analysis)
- XML, XPath, XSLT (advanced working knowledge)
- Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git)
- Familiarity with Agile tools and practices (e.g., Jira, ADO)
Education And/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in financial software implementation, compliance systems, or similar technical roles
- Experience within investment compliance domains (e.g., Private Credit, CLOs, Trade Compliance) preferred
Language Skills
- Professional proficiency in English (written and verbal) sufficient to support client interaction, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to internal teams and clients (with guidance)
Education/Certifications
- University degree in related discipline
