Role Overview:
The Compliance Analyst is part of the global finance transformation team and works within the second line of defence in the finance control framework. The role focuses on testing, monitoring, and ensuring financial compliance, identifying control weaknesses, and providing assurance that financial processes meet required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Compliance Monitoring:
- Test and review financial controls against Global Minimum Control Standards (MCS).
- Challenge and re-test assessments done by the first line finance teams and Managed Service Provider (MSP).
- Identify non-compliance issues and monitor remediation actions.
- Reporting & Risk Oversight:
- Prepare reports for senior stakeholders highlighting financial risks and compliance status.
- Track implementation of corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with finance teams, business units, and the MSP.
- Provide guidance on financial controls and compliance.
- Risk & Regulatory Awareness:
- Understand risks such as bribery, corruption, money laundering, sanctions, and regulatory compliance across different regions.
- Service Improvement:
- Contribute to automation and improvement of financial control processes.
- Support implementation of new financial technologies and best practices.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in financial controls testing or auditing
- Broad finance experience with ERP systems knowledge
- Understanding of financial accounting standards
- Knowledge of financial control, compliance, and assurance frameworks
- Experience analyzing or improving financial processes and controls
Desirable Skills
- Experience with UK charity or government compliance
- Knowledge of Charities SORP
- Experience working with shared services providers
- SAP knowledge
- Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance experience
- Experience designing compliance reports
- Experience in international or multicultural organizations
