About the Role
StartUp Movers is seeking a qualified and dynamic Company Secretary to join our Corporate Compliance & Advisory team. The role offers an opportunity to work closely with high-growth startups and established enterprises, providing strategic legal, regulatory, and governance support across diverse business environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 4–5 professionals handling corporate compliance, legal, and regulatory matters, ensuring high standards of execution and collaboration.
- Provide expert advisory to clients on corporate laws, including fundraising, compliance frameworks, FEMA regulations, and intellectual property rights (IPR).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring the timely resolution of queries and the delivery of high-quality advisory services.
- Oversee and execute fundraising transactions, including private placements, debt issuances, and related regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Companies Act, FEMA (FDI/ODI), Trademark laws, and other allied frameworks.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders such as legal counsel, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Monitor regulatory updates and proactively advise clients on risk mitigation and compliance strategies.
- Drive process improvements and contribute to building scalable compliance frameworks for startup clients.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Qualified Company Secretary with a valid ICSI membership.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in team handling within a consultancy firm, PCS firm, or similar environment, preferably serving startups.
- Strong working knowledge of corporate laws, FEMA regulations, and governance practices.
- Practical experience in fundraising transactions and regulatory filings.
- Familiarity with the startup ecosystem and evolving regulatory landscape.
