Role Description
The Communication Skills Intern will support content and program activities that enhance the experience of members in the Speak Sharp Society community. Day-to-day responsibilities may include drafting and editing communication materials, such as short articles, member updates, and practice prompts, as well as assisting in the preparation of press releases and announcements. The intern will help coordinate internal communications, gather feedback from participants, and contribute to the refinement of communication training resources. This internship role is remote, allowing the intern to collaborate with the team online and attend virtual meetings and sessions. The position offers hands-on experience in communication strategy, content development, and community engagement.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
- Ability to draft and support press releases and external announcements as needed.
- Interest in strategic communications, including aligning messages with audience needs and organizational goals.
- Comfort with internal communications, such as member updates, feedback summaries, and community notices.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed studies in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage tasks in a remote environment.
- Proactive mindset, eagerness to learn, and openness to feedback on communication style and content.
- Familiarity with online collaboration tools and basic digital content platforms is beneficial.
