Electrical Engineer – Commissioning

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer – Commissioning to support electrical testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, validation, and project handover activities. The candidate will work closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, OEMs, and clients to ensure electrical systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and handed over in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

·        Execute electrical commissioning activities from installation verification through final project handover.

·        Review electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, schematics, testing procedures, and commissioning documentation.

·        Conduct pre-functional and functional testing of electrical systems and equipment.

·        Verify installation quality, equipment readiness, safety requirements, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

·        Conduct testing and commissioning of HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS, PCC/MCC panels, and associated systems.

·        Carry out inspection and testing of cables, switchgear, protection systems, earthing, and electrical distribution networks.

·        Support functional testing, integrated testing, and client demonstrations.

·        Identify installation deficiencies and ensure timely closure of punch points.

·        Coordinate with contractors, consultants, OEMs, PMC, project teams, and clients during commissioning activities.

·        Troubleshoot electrical system issues and support resolution of commissioning-related problems.

·        Review test reports, commissioning records, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.

·        Ensure commissioning activities are completed safely, accurately, and within defined project timelines.

Required Technical Skills

·        Strong understanding of electrical distribution and building electrical systems.

·        Hands-on knowledge of testing and commissioning of HT/LT electrical systems.

·        Knowledge of transformers, HT/LT panels, switchgear, DG sets, UPS, PCC/MCC panels, and electrical protection systems.

·        Understanding of cable testing, insulation resistance, continuity, earth resistance, and related electrical testing procedures.

·        Understanding of electrical earthing and bonding systems.

·        Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, layouts, and equipment drawings.

·        Basic understanding of electrical protection, controls, and interlocks.

·        Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·        Knowledge of AutoCAD for electrical drawing review will be an advantage.

Qualification

·        Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

·        Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in electrical commissioning, testing, site execution, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

·        Experience in commissioning of commercial buildings.

·        Experience in hotels, hospitals, industrial facilities, data centres, airports, or large infrastructure projects.

·        Experience coordinating with electrical contractors, consultants, OEMs, PMC, and clients.

·        Exposure to integrated testing and project handover activities will be an advantage.
