Location: Mumbai, India

Outlet: Restaurants( Central Kitchen, O Pedro, The Bombay Canteen & Veronica's)
Salary Range: Rs.2.28 LPA Rs.2.88 LPA + Service Charge/ Incentives

THE ROLE

At our restaurants, we're reinventing India's culinary legacy, and as a Commis Chef, you'll play a vital role in bringing our vision to life. You'll assist in preparing exceptional dishes while ensuring the highest standards of quality, taste, and cleanliness and will be based out of multiple locations in Mumbai.

This is an exciting opportunity to hone your culinary skills, collaborate with a passionate kitchen team, and grow as a culinary professional within the Hunger Inc. family, which includes iconic brands such as The Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Veronica's, and Papa's.

WHO YOU ARE

You're a passionate culinary enthusiast with 1-4 years of kitchen experience, eager to grow in a fast-paced environment. With a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative spirit, you bring a positive, team-oriented attitude to everything you do. Whether you're prepping ingredients, cooking dishes, or supporting senior chefs, you take pride in delivering consistently high-quality dishes.

YOUR TEAM

You'll be working closely with the kitchen team at our Restaurants, under the guidance of senior chefs who will mentor you in perfecting your craft. Teamwork and collaboration are key to ensuring smooth operations, and you'll play an integral role in maintaining the kitchen's efficiency.
WHO YOU WILL REPORT TO
You'll report directly to the Sous Chef or Senior Chef, following their instructions to meet culinary standards and ensure excellence in every dish.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Food Preparation: Assist in preparing ingredients, portioning, chopping, and storing food with precision.
Cooking & Plating: Support in the cooking and presentation of dishes, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards.
Kitchen Organization: Keep your workstation clean, organized, and well-stocked with ingredients and tools.
Consistency & Quality: Follow recipes and culinary instructions to produce consistent, high-quality savory dishes.
Learning & Development: Expand your culinary skills by learning new recipes, techniques, and cooking methods.
Team Collaboration: Provide support to senior chefs and team members, especially during busy periods.
Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring safe food practices.
Recipe Kits & Prep: Assist in preparing daily mise-en-place and assembling recipe kits for your section.
Adaptability: Be flexible in supporting other kitchen departments when required, particularly during peak hours.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To thrive in this role, you'll need:
1-4 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in savoury dishes.
A high school diploma or culinary arts certification.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a collaborative mindset.
The ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to a dynamic kitchen setting.
Basic knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
