Job Summary
The Commis Chef supports the culinary team in preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining hygiene, safety, and brand standards. This role is ideal for a passionate culinary professional eager to grow in a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items as directed by senior chefs.
- Ensure mise en place is prepared and organized before service.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Follow recipes and portion controls accurately.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen as per HACCP standards.
- Support inventory control and minimize food wastage.
- Comply with hotel health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting kitchen supplies.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts preferred.
- 12 years of experience in a professional kitchen (luxury hotel experience preferred).
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
