We are looking for a passionate and skilled Commis I – Pizza Chef to join our kitchen team. This role is primarily responsible for managing our pizza section, with additional exposure to pastas and Mediterranean cuisine. Key Responsibilities
- Handle the pizza section independently and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Prepare and stretch dough, manage fermentation, and maintain dough quality standards.
- Prepare and execute authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas using traditional techniques.
- Work with premium Italian flours and house-made sauces while maintaining recipe consistency.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of pasta and Mediterranean dishes.
- Ensure proper mise en place, portioning, and food presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory and minimize wastage within the section.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Commis I or similar role in an Italian, Mediterranean, or European kitchen.
- Strong understanding of pizza-making techniques, including dough fermentation and handling.
- Knowledge of pasta preparation and Mediterranean cuisine is preferred.
- Passion for authentic Italian food and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain consistency under pressure.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow.
