Outlet: Restaurants( Central Kitchen, O Pedro, The Bombay Canteen & Veronica's)

Salary Range: Rs.2.28 LPA Rs.2.88 LPA + Service Charge/ Incentives.

At Hunger Inc., we're looking for a Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at the Central Prep Kitchen in Lower Parel. You'll play a vital role in supporting our award-winning restaurantsThe Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Veronica's, Bombay Sweet Shop, Papa's, and moreby preparing ingredients, organizing workstations, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. With 14 years of commercial kitchen experience, you're eager to sharpen your knife skills, learn mise-en-place, and master preparation techniques. You work well under pressure in fast-paced environments, love collaborating with your team, and take pride in maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness. YOUR TEAM

As a Commis Chef, you'll work with an energetic team of chefs and cooks at our Central Prep Kitchen, which supports all Hunger Inc. restaurants. From creating mise-en-place for The Bombay Canteen's seasonal Indian dishes, to prepping ingredients for O Pedro's Goan-inspired cuisine, to contributing to Bombay Sweet Shop's playful mithai, your work will be integral to delivering consistency and excellence across our kitchens.

WHO YOU WILL REPORT TO

You'll report directly to the Sous Chef or Head Chef at the Central Prep Kitchen. They'll guide you through daily prep, mentor you on techniques, and help you grow your culinary skill set with structured training and on-the-job learning.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Food Preparation: Portioning, chopping, prepping, and storing ingredients to support daily service.

  • Workstation Management: Keeping your area organized, clean, and fully stocked with par levels of mise-en-place.

  • Consistency & Quality: Ensuring all prep is executed to the highest standard and delivered on time.

  • Recipe Kits & Prep Lists: Following prep sheets, assembling kits, and maintaining handover notes for smooth shift transitions.

  • Flexibility: Assisting other departments during busy periods and adapting to the needs of multiple restaurants.

  • Sanitation: Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in line with food safety standards.

  • Learning: Staying updated with new products, recipes, and preparation techniques while refining your knife skills.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • 14 years of experience in a professional kitchen.

  • A high school education or diploma in Culinary Arts.

  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of vegetable prep.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • A collaborative, team-first attitude with a willingness to learn.
