Role Summary
We are looking for a passionate and skilled
Commi I - Indian Kitchen to join our culinary team at VITS Select Jayshin, Igatpuri. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Indian cuisine preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations, food quality, and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Indian dishes as per standard recipes and hotel specifications
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Assist in buffet, à la carte, and banquet food production
- Carry out daily mise-en-place and kitchen preparation activities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen work area
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food products and ingredients
- Minimize food wastage and follow cost-control practices
- Coordinate with senior chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an Indian Kitchen
- Experience in hotels, resorts, or reputed restaurants preferred
- Knowledge of North Indian, South Indian, and regional Indian cuisine
- Ability to work in shifts and under pressure
