Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer with strong expertise across commercial contracts, intellectual property, and in-house commercial legal support to join the in-house legal function of an international group, working closely with and reporting to the General Counsel.

The ideal candidate will help the General Counsel draft, review and negotiate a wide range of international commercial agreements, including distribution, agency, franchising, licensing, supply and sales agreements, while also supporting the Group's trademark and IP portfolio, office leases, and day-to-day commercial queries from business teams across multiple markets.

Candidates should have strong experience in commercial law, ideally including cross-border or in-house work. The successful candidate should be commercially minded, comfortable working with business stakeholders, and able to manage a varied workload independently in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the General Counsel in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, including distribution, agency, franchising, licensing, supply and sales agreements.
  • Identify legal and commercial risks in contracts and propose practical, commercially focused solutions and fallback positions.
  • Help oversee the Group's intellectual property and trademark portfolio, working with the external specialist firm that maintains records and filings.
  • Track trademark renewals, oppositions and portfolio matters, and support brand protection and licensing issues.
  • Review and negotiate commercial property documents, including office leases and related agreements.
  • Answer contractual and legal queries from business teams in a clear, practical and timely manner.
  • Review smaller influencer, sponsorship and marketing agreements.
  • Support debt collection matters, including demand correspondence and liaison with external advisers.
  • Assist with customs formalities and respond to legal and regulatory information requests.
  • Maintain contract templates, records and a well-organised legal matter log.
  • Coordinate with external counsel across jurisdictions as required.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on commercial, IP and regulatory developments relevant to an international business.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Law and appropriate legal qualifications.
  • 5–10 years of post-qualification experience in commercial law.
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, such as distribution, agency, franchising, licensing and supply agreements.
  • Experience with international or cross-border commercial agreements is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of intellectual property and trademark matters, including portfolio management and licensing.
  • Experience reviewing commercial leases is advantageous.
  • In-house experience, or experience advising international businesses, is highly desirable.
  • Strong commercial judgment with the ability to move beyond identifying legal issues and provide practical, business-focused advice.
  • Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the confidence to advise non-legal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Ability to prioritise a mix of complex and high-volume, lower-complexity work.
  • Ability to independently manage matters and competing priorities in a remote working environment.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package in foreign currency
  • Fully remote work
  • Regular initiatives for training and professional development.

If you are a driven legal professional with strong experience in commercial contracts and intellectual property and are looking to work closely with high performing legal teams, we encourage you to apply.

Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further discussions.
