Key Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Quote-Level Margin Analysis & Commercial Governance
- Review and validate deal-level / quote-level margins before order booking
- Ensure adherence to pricing guidelines, approval matrices, and profitability thresholds
- Analyze cost structures, discounting, and commercial terms to protect margins
- Highlight low-margin or loss-making deals and recommend corrective actions
- Work closely with Sales to structure commercially viable deals
- Customer Risk & Credit Evaluation
- Perform detailed credit assessment for new and existing customers
- Analyze financial statements, cash flows, and credit reports
- Set and review credit limits, payment terms, and risk classifications
- Evaluate project-based and large exposure risks before approvals
- Recommend risk mitigation strategies (advance, BG, LC, etc.)
- Credit Control & Exposure Management
- Monitor customer exposure, credit utilization, and ageing trends
- Track overdue receivables and potential default risks
- Partner with Collections team to ensure timely cash flow realization
- Flag early warning signals and drive proactive risk actions
- Business Partnering
- Collaborate with Sales, Commercial, and Operations teams to balance growth with risk
- Provide financial insights on deal structuring, pricing, and payment terms
- Support strategic decisions with data-driven analysis
- Drive awareness of credit discipline and margin accountability across teams
- Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to credit policies, approval frameworks, and internal controls
- Maintain proper documentation for credit approvals and deviations
- Support internal and external audits related to credit and commercial controls
- Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and risk management
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Margin improvement / leakage control
- Reduction in bad debts and overdue receivables
- Accuracy and turnaround time of credit evaluations
- Adherence to approval matrix and governance standards
- Improvement in cash flow and DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)
Qualifications & Experience
- B Com; Inter-CA /CMA- MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification
- 5–6 years of experience in commercial finance / credit risk / business finance
- Strong experience in margin analysis, pricing, and credit evaluation
- Exposure to project-based / B2B / infrastructure / IT / manufacturing industries preferred

- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Experience in dealing with BG, LC, and structured payment mechanisms
