Job Description

Accountabilities & Key Performance Indicators:

  • Fire Safety Audits:
  • Ensure fire safety audits are conducted as per international best practices such as ISO and DGCA standards for operational buildings, terminals, aircraft maintenance hangars, and other relevant facilities.
  • Plan vs Actual: Monitor audit schedule and completion.
  • Number of Audits: Track the number of internal and external audits conducted.
  • Non-Compliance Reports: Document non-compliance instances and implement mitigation actions to resolve them.
  • Building Fire No Objection Certificates (NOC):
  • Ensure availability of required building fire NOCs in compliance with Goa Fire & Emergency Services rules and state building bylaws.
  • NOCs Obtained: Track the number of NOCs required versus the number obtained.
  • Hot Work Permits & Fire Safety at Hot-Work Sites:
  • Issue hot-work permits and enforce fire safety norms at hot-work sites in line with SOPs.
  • Hot Work Permits Issued: Monitor the number of permits issued.
  • Incident/Accident Reports: Record and investigate any incidents or accidents that occur during hot work.
  • Joint Inspections & Fire Clearance for Concessionaires:
  • Carry out joint inspections for issuing GNIAL fire clearance to concessionaires as per SOPs.
  • Fire Clearances Issued: Monitor the number of fire clearances issued to concessionaires.
  • Non-Compliance Resolutions: Track the number of non-compliance issues resolved.

Education Qualifications:

  • Grade-I Diploma in Aviation Fire or Graduate (preferably with a science background) from any recognized university.
  • JFO Course or equivalent from an aviation academy.
  • Valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving License.
  • Good knowledge of ICAO documents, DGCA CAR, State Building Bylaws, and NBC (National Building Code).
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Relevant Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in aviation firefighting, with at least 6 years in a leadership role as a Lead Firefighter.
  • Extensive knowledge of NBC (National Building Code) and fire safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills for effective radio telephony communication.
