Job Description

The Colour Matcher is responsible for the precise formulation, colour matching, and tinting of paints in accordance with customer-supplied colour standards and specifications. This role ensures that the final product meets both visual and technical requirements before production and delivery. The incumbent plays a vital role in supporting lab operations, including maintaining cleanliness, adhering to safety standards, and ensuring equipment is properly handled. The Colour Matcher is expected to work independently, follow instructions from the supervisor or manager, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in quality and efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•       Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and regulations; maintain a safe working environment and take responsibility for both personal and workplace safety at all times.

•       Ensure proper usage, maintenance, and storage of laboratory personal protective equipment (PPE) and consumables in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.

•       Accurately perform colour matching of paints based on customer-supplied standards and specifications.

•       Formulate and produce touch-up paints aligned with approved customer specifications.

•       Document colour formulations comprehensively and clearly, noting any specific requirements or deviations.

•       Conduct quality control evaluations on all matched samples prior to dispatch to ensure conformance with quality and visual standards.

•       Enter and manage formulation data within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, ensuring consistency and traceability.

•       Systematically organize and archive all colour matches and relevant data in the laboratory for future reference.

•       Monitor the operational status of all laboratory equipment and ensure regular maintenance in line with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

•       Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment in the laboratory at all times.

•       Prepare and circulate accurate daily activity reports to the designated supervisory personnel in a timely manner.

•       Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or department manager, in alignment with operational needs.
