Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and student-focused Admissions Counsellor to play a pivotal role in guiding students through the undergraduate admissions process. The ideal candidate will provide expert support to students and parents, ensuring a smooth and successful journey toward securing admissions at top-tier universities. This role requires strong research abilities, communication skills, and a passion for mentoring students.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Counseling & Application Support:
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with prospective students to discuss university options, academic programs, and career trajectories.
- Guide students in preparing strong applications, assisting with essays, personal statements, and supplemental materials.
- Provide structured mentorship on standardized test preparation (SAT, ACT, APs) and academic requirements.
- Help students identify scholarship and financial aid opportunities, ensuring access to necessary resources.
- Offer expert guidance on international application procedures, including documentation and regulatory compliance for different university systems (Common App, UCAS, OUAC, etc.).
- Student & Parent Engagement:
- Maintain regular communication with students and parents, offering monthly progress updates via calls, emails, and reports.
- Help marketing and communications teams organize informational webinars and workshops on undergraduate admissions trends, essay writing, and university selection.
- Address concerns and queries from students and parents, providing professional, timely, and accurate responses.
- Data Management & Research:
- Ensure accurate data entry and tracking of student applications, timelines, and progress in the student database.
- Conduct ongoing research on global university trends, emerging academic programs, and evolving admissions policies.
- Support students in participating in prestigious academic competitions, including the
- John Locke Essay Competition, Math Olympiads, and other enrichment programs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Education, or a related field (Freshers are welcome to apply).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and research skills.
- Excellent writing abilities, with attention to detail in reviewing applications and essays.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), G Suite and CRM tools.
- Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for mentoring students and guiding them through the higher education landscape.
