Asset Disposal Manager - Repossessed Properties
Role Summary
The Asset Disposal Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end disposal process of repossessed assets, including land parcels, commercial units, and residential properties. The role requires strong market knowledge, negotiation skills, and the ability to drive timely and value-maximizing recoveries.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Disposal Process: Lead the complete disposal lifecycle-from asset takeover to final sale closure-for repossessed properties.
Valuation & Market Assessment:
Coordinate property valuations, assess market demand, and determine optimal pricing strategies.
Stakeholder Management:
Liaise with legal teams, recovery units, local authorities, brokers, valuers, and potential buyers to ensure smooth transactions.
Marketing & Sales Execution:
Develop and execute marketing strategies (brokers, listing platforms, local networks, auction houses) to maximize buyer outreach.
Documentation & Compliance:
Ensure all documentation related to titles, repossession, approvals, legal clearances, and sale deeds comply with regulatory and internal policies.
Negotiation & Deal Closure:
Negotiate with buyers to achieve the best possible sale value while ensuring timely closure.
Portfolio Tracking:
Maintain accurate MIS, track disposal timelines, monitor recovery targets, and report progress to senior management.
Risk Management:
Identify risks related to property disputes, encumbrances, or litigations and collaborate with legal teams to resolve them.
Process Improvement:
Suggest improvements in asset disposal processes to enhance efficiency and recovery rates.
Required Experience & Skills
3-10 years experience in disposing repossessed assets or real-estate sales (banking, NBFC, ARC preferred).
Strong understanding of land, commercial, and residential property markets.
Hands-on experience in legal and documentation processes related to property sale & repossession.
Strong negotiation, relationship management, and deal-closure skills.
Ability to work with external partners-brokers, valuers, local authorities, legal firms, auction houses.
Proficiency in MIS, Excel, and managing property portfolios.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
