Job Description

  • Serve as Tier-2/3 escalation for collaboration tooling issues and define Tier-1 standards for the Service Desk.
  • Own governance standards across Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange), Slack, Atlassian Confluence, and Zoom as some examples.
  • Lead new tool rollouts, and lead and support new use cases for existing tools, working with both technical and non-technical business partners.
  • Enforce naming conventions, ownership models, lifecycle policies, and archival standards for collaboration environments.
  • Control external collaboration and guest access to prevent unmanaged sprawl and shadow tool adoption.
  • Own data governance controls within collaboration platforms, including sensitivity labels, retention policies, and deletion workflows.
  • Assist with legal holds, eDiscovery requests, and compliance audits in partnership with Legal and Security teams.
  • Enforce least-privilege access models and govern group ownership and access reviews across platforms.
  • Maintain documentation standards for SOPs and runbooks, and drive cleanup of stale or orphaned content in the tools.
  • Evaluate overlap between collaboration tools and support migrations, rationalization, and coexistence strategies.
  • Govern integrations between collaboration platforms and ITSM, incident response, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience administering and governing enterprise collaboration platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, SharePoint governance, and Teams or similar tools in total lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with administration and data governance best practices.
  • Working knowledge of SSO, MFA, and conditional access as they apply to collaboration tooling.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Systems Engineering and Security teams to drive technical resolution and maintain compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail—you take ownership of environments and keep them clean.
  • Clear communicator who can translate governance requirements into practical guidance for end users and stakeholders.
  • Plus: Experience partnering with Legal, Security, and Compliance teams on eDiscovery, audits, and data retention.
