Position Title: Cold Room Refrigeration Technician
Department: Maintenance / Refrigeration
We are looking for an experienced Cold Room Refrigeration Technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cold room and refrigeration systems. The technician will ensure that refrigeration equipment operates safely, efficiently, and at the required temperature to maintain product quality and prevent equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, service, and repair cold room refrigeration systems and related equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system faults, electrical issues, and mechanical problems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, fans, thermostats, controllers, and other refrigeration components.
- Monitor and maintain required cold room temperatures and system operating pressures.
- Check refrigerant levels and identify refrigerant leaks using appropriate testing equipment.
- Carry out refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and system commissioning in accordance with applicable safety and environmental requirements.
- Inspect and maintain electrical components, including contactors, relays, overloads, sensors, control panels, and wiring.
- Maintain and repair cold room doors, heaters, lighting, drainage, and associated equipment when required.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to refrigeration breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
- Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, refrigerant records, and spare-parts usage.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company safety procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Coordinate with the maintenance, production, warehouse, and operations teams to minimize downtime.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new refrigeration and cold room equipment.
- Follow all applicable health, safety, environmental, and refrigeration regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma, certificate, or technical qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, HVAC, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in cold room, commercial refrigeration, or HVAC maintenance.
- Practical experience with refrigeration systems, preferably in commercial, industrial, food storage, or warehouse environments.
- Good knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and refrigeration components.
- Ability to read basic electrical and refrigeration wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of refrigerant handling and leak detection procedures.
- Valid driving license is an advantage.

Working Conditions
