Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Cognos Developer. The Cognos Developer will design, develop, and maintain Cognos reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions that support business intelligence and decision-making. Day-to-day responsibilities include working with stakeholders to gather requirements, building data models, developing ETL processes to integrate and transform data, and optimizing existing Cognos assets for performance and usability. The role also involves troubleshooting report and data issues, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with data engineers and analysts to align BI solutions with overall data strategy. The Cognos Developer will document technical solutions, follow best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of reporting standards and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in designing and building dashboards, with solid analytical skills to interpret and present data clearly.
- Proficiency in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, including data integration, cleansing, and automation.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, including dimensional modeling and optimizing structures for reporting and analytics.
- Experience creating and maintaining Crystal Reports or similar enterprise reporting tools.
- Practical experience as a Cognos Developer, including Cognos Analytics, Framework Manager, and Report Studio.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases; experience with data warehousing concepts is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
