Job Description

The System Validation COE Owner is responsible for developing and leading system validation and test engineering capabilities across embedded, cloud, and connected product platforms.

The role combines validation strategy, automation expertise, and market insight to strengthen testing capabilities, support customer engagements, and build scalable validation frameworks that ensure high-quality product delivery.

Working closely with sales, marketing, and delivery teams, this role drives the development of reusable validation assets, automation frameworks, and testing methodologies while supporting early customer engagements and solution positioning for validation services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Market Intelligence & Validation Strategy
2. Analyze industry trends and customer needs related to system validation, test automation, and quality engineering.
3. Identify emerging validation requirements across embedded systems, cloud platforms, IoT, and connected devices.
4. Track evolving technologies including cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and CI/CD-based testing.
5. Assess competitive offerings and testing capabilities in the market to identify differentiation opportunities.
6. Identify high-value validation opportunities aligned with target industries.
7. Provide strategic recommendations to leadership on validation capabilities, tools, and technology investments.

1. Solution Positioning & Thought Leadership
2. Define and evolve positioning in system validation, test automation, and quality engineering.
3. Develop solution narratives and value propositions for validation services across embedded and cloud platforms.
4. Create customer-facing assets including website content, testing solution frameworks, and capability presentations.
5. Collaborate with marketing to drive thought leadership through blogs, webinars, and technical publications.
6. Develop standard validation solution presentations, testing frameworks, and pitch decks for consistent sales engagement.
7. Promote capabilities in automation-driven testing, CI/CD validation, and end-to-end system quality engineering.

1. Client Engagement & Opportunity Development
2. Partner with business development teams to identify and shape validation opportunities across key accounts.
3. Support early-stage client discussions to position system validation and automation capabilities.
4. Lead test strategy discussions and validation workshops with prospective clients.
5. Help customers define test strategies, validation scope, and automation approaches for their products.
6. Support discovery sessions to understand customer quality challenges, testing environments, and release processes.
7. Work with engineering teams to refine test architecture, automation strategy, and validation scope once opportunities are qualified.

1. Capability Development & COE Leadership
2. Lead the development and evolution of the System Validation Center of Excellence (COE).
3. Conduct capability gap analysis to identify areas where needs to strengthen testing tools, frameworks, or expertise.
4. Define and drive capability-building initiatives including training, hiring, and tool ecosystem development.
5. Develop reusable test automation frameworks, validation accelerators, and testing methodologies. Drive adoption of AI-enabled validation processes, including automated generation of test cases, test plans, and validation artifacts from requirements.
6. Establish best practices and engineering standards for system validation and automation testing. Lead initiatives for shift-left testing, including SDET-driven approaches, early integration, and validation to accelerate release cycles.
7. Promote knowledge sharing and adoption of reusable validation assets across delivery teams.
8. Align validation capabilities with priority customer accounts and strategic engineering programs.

Technical Skillset

1. Test Architecture & Validation Strategy

Test Strategy Development: Ability to define comprehensive validation strategies for complex systems including embedded devices, backend platforms, and cloud services.

Test Architecture: Experience designing scalable automation test architectures across system, integration, and API layers.

Quality Engineering Practices: Knowledge of modern quality engineering approaches including shift-left testing, continuous testing, and automation-first strategies.

Test Framework Design: Experience developing reusable automation frameworks and validation infrastructure.

1. Automation & Test Development

Automation Programming: Experience with Python or similar languages for automation and test development.

Automation Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Postman, JMeter, Selenium, PyTest, Robot Framework, or similar automation frameworks.

Exposure to AI/ML-driven testing tools and techniques for intelligent test generation, optimization, and coverage improvement.

Test Data Management: Experience designing test data strategies and building test simulators.

1. System & Platform Validation

End-to-End System Testing: Experience validating complete systems includingdevice, firmware, backend, and mobile/cloud components.

Performance & Reliability Testing: Knowledge of system performance testing and reliability validation.

Test Environment Management: Experience configuring and managing validation environments including simulators and test labs.

CI/CD Integration: Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or similar platforms.

Infrastructure Awareness: Understanding of test environment setup, orchestration, and continuous integration pipelines

1. Engineering Processes & Test Lifecycle

Test Planning: Experience translating business requirements into test strategies, test plans, and validation approaches.

Agile & DevOps Practices: Familiarity with Agile development and continuous integration practices.

1. Domain & Compliance Expertise

Experience in safety-critical system validation across domains such as Medical, or Industrial.

Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IEC 62304, ISO 26262, IEC 62443, or similar.
