Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Cochlear Implant Audiologist to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for conducting audiological evaluations, cochlear implant candidacy assessments, device programming (mapping), rehabilitation support, and counseling for cochlear implant recipients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments and hearing evaluations.
- Assess patients for cochlear implant candidacy in coordination with ENT specialists.
- Perform cochlear implant activation, mapping, and troubleshooting.
- Provide auditory verbal therapy guidance and rehabilitation support.
- Counsel patients and families regarding cochlear implants, expectations, and outcomes.
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups and outcome assessments.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
- Coordinate with surgeons, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
- Support awareness programs, camps, and patient education initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP/MASLP).
- RCI registration is mandatory.
- Certification or experience in Cochlear Implant Mapping and Rehabilitation is preferred.
- Strong communication and counseling skills.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of cochlear implant systems and hearing technologies.
- Expertise in audiological testing and interpretation.
- Patient counseling and relationship management.
- Clinical documentation and report preparation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cochlear implant manufacturers such as Cochlear Limited, MED-EL, or Advanced Bionics.
- Experience in hearing aid fitting and auditory rehabilitation.
