Description

We are seeking a skilled COBOL Developer with expertise in DB2, CICS, and JCL to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe application development and maintenance, contributing to critical business processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications in a mainframe environment.
• Work with DB2 databases to create and manage data structures and queries.
• Utilize CICS for transaction processing and develop CICS applications.
• Write and maintain JCL scripts for batch job processing and scheduling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Perform troubleshooting and debugging of applications to ensure smooth operation.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

Skills and Qualifications

• 8-15 years of experience in COBOL programming in a mainframe environment.
• Proficiency in DB2, including database design, SQL queries, and performance tuning.
• Experience with CICS for developing transaction-based applications.
• Strong understanding of JCL and its applications in job scheduling and execution.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and techniques for mainframe applications.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
