Job Description

Job Title: Coach, Nayanta Compass

Reports to: Dr Brajesh Bajpai

Educational Qualifications: A master's degree in psychology, equivalent certification in counselling and psychotherapy or a coaching certification.

Experience: Minimum 3- 5 years of coaching experience in any industry

Work Location: Pune. Candidates living in Pune or able to commute to Pune independently will be preferred.

Nature of work: Contractual; engagement structured around coaching sessions

Remuneration: pay-per-session, session rate set as per academic institutional norms.

About the Nayanta Compass Programme:

The Nayanta Compass is a developmental programme designed to provide students with personalised, individualised support throughout their degree. Anchored around the Nayanta values of Care, Curiosity, Confidence, and Careers, the programme cultivates a culture of self-efficacy and provides students with the scaffolding needed to make informed decisions at critical junctures such as selecting a major or pursuing internships. Drawing on research-backed psychological and behavioural tools, skill-building exercises, coaching, and mentoring support, the programme enables students to navigate their academic and professional journeys with clarity and confidence.

About the role:

The Nayanta Compass Coach at Nayanta University will play a key role in providing confidential, personalised coaching support to our undergraduate students as they navigate their way through the 4-year journey

As a coach at Nayanta University, you will have the opportunity to:

• receive close guidance from accomplished mentors and coaches, both from India and abroad.

• work closely with teaching faculty, academic associates and the academic administrative team to support student learning and development.

• contribute to setting up institutional processes and practices for holistic student development in the early years of the university.

Nayanta Compass Coaches will be appointed on a contractual basis, with a preferred commitment of 4 months.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct confidential 1-1 coaching sessions with a minimum of 20 students in a term of 3 months.

2. Maintain a digital diary of the student with updated details after each coaching session.

3. Participate in weekly or fortnightly debriefings with the Nayanta Compass Faculty-in-Charge.

4. Support the Nayanta Compass team in organising activities and group sessions.

This is not an exhaustive list and may be supplemented/modified at the discretion of the University.

Skills/Capabilities:

1. Demonstrated skill in creating an environment of unconditional positive regard for the student.

2. Excellent interpersonal communication and cross-cultural understanding.

3. Rigorous understanding of the coaching process.

4. Proficiency in working with the MS Office suite of applications.

Selection Process

Candidates shall be evaluated based on:

• A technical and conversational interview

• Live coaching session on campus
