Role Description This is a full-time, on-site CNC VMC Programmer role based in Jaipur. The CNC VMC Programmer will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and updating CNC programs for Vertical Machining Centers to produce precision auto components and bearing rings. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering drawings, selecting appropriate tools and fixtures, setting machining parameters, and coordinating with machine operators to ensure efficient and accurate production. The role involves monitoring machining processes, troubleshooting program and process issues, and implementing improvements to reduce cycle time and enhance product quality. The CNC VMC Programmer will also collaborate with quality and production teams to maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CAD models, and translate them into accurate CNC programs.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming for VMCs using relevant software (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, or similar controllers), including tool path generation and optimization.
  • Practical knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, work-holding fixtures, and materials commonly used in forged and machined auto components.
  • Experience in setting up and proving out CNC programs on shop-floor machines, including first-piece inspection and process validation.
  • Understanding of quality control practices, basic measurement techniques, and use of inspection instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and correct machining and programming issues to improve efficiency and reduce rework.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with manufacturing documentation, routing sheets, and process control records.
  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience in CNC/VMC programming.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production, maintenance, and quality teams, and to follow safety and workplace discipline standards.
  • Prior experience in an automotive or precision components manufacturing environment is an advantage.
