Qualifications:
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing database infrastructure.
- Experience working with remote teams in a multi-national environment.
- English proficiency at a minimum B2 level.
Database Administration:
- Strong experience with SQL Server and Oracle Database administration.
- Hands-on expertise in installation, configuration, and patching of SQL and Oracle databases.
- Experience with backup and restore strategies, database replication, and high availability setups.
- Performance tuning, query optimization, and monitoring of database environments.
- Knowledge of database security, roles, and user management.
Operating System Administration:
- Experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
- Understanding of OS-level interactions affecting database performance.
Automation & Scripting:
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, and Python for automation tasks.
- Experience with Ansible for configuration management and task automation.
Cloud & Virtualization:
- Basic knowledge of AWS Cloud services.
- Familiarity with backup tools for virtual environments (e.g., Commvault, Networker).
Patch Management & Upgrades:
- Understanding of patching and upgrades for Windows and Linux OS (Altiris, SuMa).
Additional Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of other database engines (SQL and Oracle).
- Ability to document procedures, create runbooks, and maintain knowledge bases.
